Notable Releases
No major framework updates today. Watchlist frameworks — LangGraph, CrewAI, Mastra, Pydantic AI, Agno — have mostly shipped routine patches or blog feature posts (e.g., Mastra's Built-in Tools introduction on 8/13) with no significant version bumps or breaking changes observed in the past 48 hours.
Takeaway
I originally assumed the main fault line in "agent frameworks" was language (Python vs TypeScript) or abstraction level (graph vs role-based). But today's projects reveal a deeper divergence: when the execution structure gets decided. LangGraph and CrewAI's generation compiles the graph at authoring time. Prime Agent, Hive, and eve all push that decision to runtime, betting that models are now smart enough to decide on their own whether to spawn a sub-agent — no human-drawn blueprint required.
