What This Company Does

Twin1 AI builds "personal-level knowledge twins" — it creates an AI twin for each professional in an organization, capturing that person's judgment, relationships, and working context so their expertise can be invoked across the org without exposing all their private data to everyone.

The product draws from each person's work systems: Slack, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Gmail, Google Drive, SharePoint. A twin can answer questions on behalf of its owner, execute certain tasks, and connect knowledge scattered across departments. The key architectural choice is that it doesn't try to build "one twin for the whole company" — instead it builds per-person twins that form a network, with permissions and privacy boundaries following the individual. The most direct interface for the Agent ecosystem is its enterprise MCP server: existing AI agents and legal tools can pull governed context from it, whether from a single twin or an entire twin network. The model layer is deliberately model-agnostic; the company says its moat is in the governed context layer, not the model.

The team is the original Eigen Technologies crew. Of co-founders Dr. Lewis Z. Liu, Tom Cahn, Huiting Liu, and Dr. Jonathan Budd, three came from Eigen. Eigen successfully turned documents into a structured database so associates could query things like "how often did buyers concede on a given clause" — but what the firm really wanted to know was "why did they concede, under what circumstances, through what negotiation path," and that knowledge lived in partners' emails, calls, notes, and memories — never in the documents.

In other words, most enterprise Agents today can access the document repository — the "outcome layer" — but not the "process layer" of decisions. Twin1 bets on the latter, and positions itself via MCP server as a supply line for others rather than a replacement. Existing legal research, document review, drafting, and redline tools can plug into Twin1 to get personal-level know-how instead of producing an averaged-out answer. Liu cites Kirkland & Ellis's announcement of a $500M investment in building its own AI technology — with the goal of putting lawyers' "collective intelligence" into a platform — as proof the demand exists; his commercial argument is that even within the AmLaw 100 and Magic Circle, very few firms can afford that kind of spend.
