Gola della Rossa and Gola di Frasassi: Marche Limestone Sport Crags and Gorge Multi-Pitch | Italy Climbing Crags

The Gola della Rossa and Gola di Frasassi are two limestone gorges in inland Marche, both in the same regional nature park; Planetmountain counts more than 500 routes across the area. Single-pitch crags such as Sulfuria, Falcioni and La Sbarra are mostly in the 5th and 6th grades, and the gorge walls carry bolted multi-pitch routes of roughly 170 to 270 m alongside old-school trad lines. Autumn to spring is the best time. The thing most likely to change your plans is the park rules: you may climb only routes on the park's official list, some walls (parts of the left bank of the Gola di Frasassi, Valle del Vernino and others) are permanently closed, and some routes have seasonal limits.
