前兩篇面試口說（通用句型和我自己的故事）都是先想中文、再找字典確認句型。情境方面的依據只讀過一個商業求職網站。這次換做法：先讀面試相關的教材和指引，看它們涵蓋什麼，再對照我缺什麼。
我當時想說什麼
這次讀到正文的來源有十一個，分成幾類：
- 語言教材：BBC Job Applications 三集、BBC Office English 兩集、British Council 的一篇文章與 You're Hired 四集、澳洲 ABC 的 Business English 面試一集
- 政府的就業指引：英國 National Careers Service 的常見題目頁與 STAR 頁
- 大學：MIT 就業輔導單位的 STAR 頁
- 雇主的官方說明：Amazon 的面試流程與 Leadership Principles、Google 的面試準備頁
- 軟體面試的社群資源：Tech Interview Handbook 四頁
- 管理刊物：HBR 一篇談反問面試官的文章，原文在付費牆後面，我讀的是一個協會網站的轉載頁
把這些來源涵蓋的功能和我原本的二十四張面試卡對照，有三個發現。
第一，我完全沒練的功能很多。 寒暄、為什麼離職、為什麼想來、強項、弱點、STAR 的任務那一段、請對方重複題目、問下一步流程、道謝、面試後跟進，原本一張都沒有。
第二，談失敗沒有人示範。 六個來源都列了「講一次失敗」這類題目，但沒有一個示範在面試裡怎麼回答。我原本有四張卡在講失敗，全是自己依字典句型寫的。這一塊教材幫不上忙。
第三，有工程內容的示範幾乎只有一個出處。 語言教材的示範回答都是行銷、業務、行政的情境。帶工程內容的只有 Tech Interview Handbook。
涵蓋來源最多的功能是反問面試官，有八個來源；其次是「為什麼想來這家公司」，七個。
在這個情境可以怎麼說
每句標了它是來源原句，還是把來源句子裡的內容換成我的。換進去的內容只用前兩篇已經寫過的事實。
一、開場與說明現職

開場那句出自澳洲 ABC 的面試一集。British Council 的 You're Hired 第 5 集裡，面試官有兩位，應徵者說的是 Hello, it's very nice to meet you both。
BBC 的 Describing your job 一集區分了兩種說法：對朋友可以說 I mostly work on…，正式場合說 I'm responsible for…。同一集還教了 I have a background in …, which in practice means …，用來先講領域、再講實際在做什麼。
這裡我刻意用 improving。我的工作是優化一個本來就存在的產品，說成 building 會把角色講大。
換工作的理由，BBC 同一集的說法是 I'd like to apply my skills to a new challenge。You're Hired 裡的應徵者說 I've come as far as I can in my current position… and would love to take on some more responsibility。
二、STAR 的三段
STAR 是 Situation、Task、Action、Result。英國 National Careers Service 有三個逐段標示的完整示範回答，是這次讀到最清楚的範本。

背景那一句的開頭，三個來源的寫法很接近：National Careers Service 用 in my previous … job，British Council 的面試文章用 In my last role，BBC 的 Selling yourself 用 when I started in my current role。
結果那一句，教材的示範都帶具體成果或數字。BBC 的說法是 through my actions we saw a ten percent increase in productivity。
行動那一段我沒有做成卡片，因為內容每個故事都不同。來源的示範是 I organised a meeting with…、I sat down with them and we talked about…、I spoke to … to ask him why…。MIT 的 STAR 頁和我先前讀過的 Indeed 的 STAR 說明都提醒用 I 而不是 we，才看得出你自己做了什麼。
講最自豪的專案，You're Hired 的台詞是 the thing I'm most proud of professionally，BBC 有 I'm really proud of my record on…。我做成一張卡：The thing I'm most proud of professionally is the memory work for our agent.
三、沒聽清楚題目

出自 BBC 的 Interviews part 1，是受訪的 BBC 招募人員說的：don't be afraid to say 'sorry, can you repeat the question'。其他來源只給建議、沒有給句子，所以這張卡只有這一個出處。
四、反問面試官

前三句出自 Tech Interview Handbook，第四句出自 British Council 的面試文章。
這一組是跨來源重複最多的：
- 問挑戰：Tech Interview Handbook、British Council（What do you think the challenges will be for this role?）、HBR 轉載頁（What are the biggest challenges that I might face in this position?）
- 問典型的一天：Tech Interview Handbook、National Careers Service（what does a typical day involve?）、HBR 轉載頁
- 問下一步：British Council、HBR 轉載頁（What are the next steps in the hiring process?）
HBR 那篇的轉載頁還有 Can you tell me about the team I'll be working with? 和 What's the most important thing I should accomplish in the first 90 days?。前一句我上一批已經放在卡片的替代說法裡，當時的出處是另一個商業網站；現在多了一個來源。
五、面試後跟進

出自 BBC 的 After the interview。這是受訪的招募人員口頭轉述一封信的大意，不是信件範本，所以拿來寫信時還要補上稱呼和結尾。同一集也提到可以請對方給回饋：please can I have some feedback on the interview。
面試官會問什麼
這次整理了五十三題，標了出處。在兩個以上來源出現的類型：
- 自我介紹：Tell me about yourself
- 動機：Why do you want to work for X company?、Why do you want to leave your current/last company?
- 專案：What is a project that you are most proud of?、What is the most challenging aspect of your current project?
- 失敗：Tell me about a time you failed.
- 衝突：Tell me about a time when you had a conflict with a co-worker.、Tell me about a time you had a disagreement with your manager.
- 適合度：Tell me why you will be a good fit for the position.

換內容再說一次
先看中文，自己說一次，再看參考說法。內容都取自我自己的工作。

第 5、6 句是來源原句；其餘是我把來源句子的內容換掉。
一段短對話
以下是自己寫的練習示例，不是真實面試，也不是教材的對話。
A: Thanks for coming in today.
B: I'm really excited to be speaking with you today. Thank you so much for the opportunity.

自評的標準是能不能把意思說出來，不是字有沒有完全一樣。

仍待核對
- 在面試裡怎麼講失敗：六個來源都問，沒有一個示範回答。
- 為什麼想來這家公司、強項、弱點：來源有題目與建議，示範句很少，這次沒有做成卡片。
- HBR 原文的確切用字：內文在付費牆後面，我讀的是轉載頁；轉載頁和同名影片的題目一致，但個別用字不同。
- 這些說法的英美差異：沒有一個來源說明。
- 我的真實年資：前一篇的面試卡原本寫「五年」，是範例值。我不確定該報幾年，所以那張卡改成不講年數；其他幾張範例值的卡已換成真實內容。
整體來說
十三句裡八句是來源原句，其中一句是從原文的 company/team 裡取 team。最值得先練的是 STAR 的三個開頭和四個反問，因為每場面試都會用到，而且這兩組在多個來源重複出現。
這次最有用的發現不是句子，而是缺口的形狀：教材把開場、動機、反問教得很完整，卻沒有人示範怎麼講失敗和怎麼講工程專案的細節。這兩塊正好是我的面試最需要的，還是得靠自己寫、再找人幫忙看。來源方面，語言教材全是英國與澳洲的機構，沒有美國的口說教材；沒有母語者測試，也沒有頻率比較。
